I always thought women came to me to enhance their beauty, but what they’re really coming for, is relief
I always thought women came to me to enhance their beauty. But I've realized that what they're really coming for is relief.
Relief to recognize themselves in the mirror again. To see the woman they know is still there beneath the stress, tension, and inflammation.
Relief that they won't be judged for caring about their appearance. Only supported and guided through whatever they're navigating.
Relief to know they aren't alone, or crazy.
Relief to know they don't have to sort through endless information alone. And that personalized care is more effective than constantly optimizing their routine.
Relief to know they have options. So many options. And that they don't have to navigate them alone.
Relief to know that it's natural and normal to feel disconnected from yourself sometimes. And that it's a temporary experience.
Relief to discover that beauty care can be so simple, peaceful, gentle, and luxurious. That so much can be done with your own hands.
Relief to learn that our work is never painful. In fact, it's deeply pleasurable. Pleasure and safety create the environment for healing and rejuvenation.
Relief when they haven't been able to sleep and get to drift off on my table.
To leave feeling nurtured, beautiful, soft, and cared for when life gets incredibly intense and demanding. Especially when it is.
Relief to get the pre-operative decision-making support and post-operative recovery care that's so often lacking.
Relief to just cry.
To process.
To ask questions.
To be reassured.
To be supported.
Or to be silent.
Watching relief wash over you is my absolute favorite thing.
For years I thought women were coming to me because they wanted to look more beautiful, slow the signs of aging, or support their recovery after surgery. And of course that's all true.
Beauty matters, and I adore it.
But after working with women all these years, I've realized that beauty enhancement isn't the only reason they reach out, or why they stay.
They're looking for relief.
Relief from the effects of tension and stress.
Relief from constant information overload.
Relief from feeling like they have to figure everything out alone.
Relief from feeling disconnected from themselves.
Beauty and relief aren't separate.
Sometimes feeling beautiful brings the relief.
