I’m entering the last year of my 30s, here’s what I’m dialing in

I’m turning 39 in a month, entering the last year of my 30s.

I already take really good care of myself. I have practices I love. I eat well, move my body, take care of my skin, prioritize rest, pleasure and beauty.

So I’m not reinventing anything.

I’m dialing in what I already know works and getting clearer about how I want to feel as I move into this next year of my life.

And a lot of it comes down to lightening up. Physically and energetically.

I want emotions, energy and joy to move through me like water.

Physically, I’m interested in supporting my body in moving through density and keeping things flowing. Fascia, lymph, circulation, fluid movement, nervous system regulation. I know how different I feel when I’m consistently supporting these systems rather than waiting until I feel tight, stagnant or heavy.

Energetically, I’m practicing the same thing.

Feeling what I feel without attaching myself to every feeling. Letting an emotion move. Letting an experience be an experience. Laughing. Crying. Moving. Resting. Allowing joy all the way in.

I want to feel lighter without becoming less substantial.

In fact, I’m equally focused on strength, resilience and capacity.

I want to be physically strong. I want to feel capable in my body. I want emotional capacity for a bigger, richer life.

There’s something really compelling to me about holding those things together: lightness and strength. Fluidity and resilience.

I don’t want to create a smaller, more controlled life in order to feel peaceful. I want the capacity to experience more of life while staying connected to myself.

Pleasure, embodiment + moderation

I’m also moving toward what I want without intense restriction.

Moderation has become such an important part of how I live.

I can care about how I feel in my body and enjoy beautiful food. I can have a martini and also be mindful about what I’m consuming. I can have goals for myself without making my entire life bend around achieving them.

I’m interested in discernment, not deprivation.

And consumption goes far beyond food.

What am I watching? What am I reading? What conversations am I having? What am I repeatedly telling myself?

I want to be intentional about what I take in because I notice how profoundly all of it affects how I feel.

But pleasure matters to me just as much.

Good food. Beauty. Nature. Touch. Laughter. Friendship. Sensuality. Rest. Feeling gorgeous. Feeling deeply inside my own body and actually experiencing my life while I’m living it.

Embodiment is a huge part of this for me.

Less living entirely from my thoughts. More noticing sensation. Moving when I want to move. Resting when I need rest. Feeling my feet on the ground, my body in the water, the sun on my skin, my breath moving through me.

Actually being here.

Doing what makes me feel amazing

I want to feel vibrant, elegant, glowy and willowy.

And I already know so much about what helps me feel that way.

I’m staying consistent with the restorative facial and body practices I’ve loved and taught for years: soft foam rolling and fascia work for my body, facial fascia brushing and my Fingertip Facelift, facial massage, Gua Sha, face exercises, facial taping and lymphatic support.

I’m especially interested in keeping the tissues of my face, neck and chest soft, mobile and well supported, encouraging healthy circulation and lymphatic flow, releasing unnecessary facial and jaw tension, and supporting the natural shape, vitality and expression of my face.

Some days that might mean a few minutes of facial massage or Gua Sha. Other days it’s fascia brushing, facial exercises or taping before bed. I’m also bringing red light therapy back into my routine and continuing to prioritize movement, rest, nervous system care and the whole-body practices that influence how my face looks and feels.

These are my juicy restorative beauty practices.

They aren’t chores I’m imposing on myself because I’m turning 39, and I’m not interested in obsessively trying to prevent aging.

I genuinely enjoy caring for my face and body this way. The practices bring me into my body. They give me time to touch my own skin, notice how I’m feeling, soften tension and connect with myself.

And yes, I love the aesthetic benefits too.

I want to look glowy and vibrant. I like supporting facial definition, reducing puffiness, keeping my tissues supple and helping my face look rested and full of vitality.

Beauty and embodiment aren’t separate for me.

The way I care for my face is part of the way I care for my whole self.

More connection + depth

I want more connection with myself, my soul and nature.

More unobserved solo time.

More parts of my life that belong entirely to me.

I’m also interested in saying what I really want to say without running it through the filter of how everyone else might perceive it.

I want pleasure, purpose, peace, connection and depth to matter more to me than visibility.

Not because I don’t want to be seen. I do.

But I don’t want being seen to become more important than actually experiencing my own life.

Presence + trust

Maybe all of this ultimately brings me back to presence.

I notice when I’m negotiating with the past or getting ahead of myself and trying to control the future.

And I’m practicing coming back.

What is happening right now?

What do I feel right now?

What does my body know right now?

Again and again.

And underneath that is trust.

Trust in my body. Trust in myself. Trust in my business and my impact. Trust in what I can’t see yet but know is happening.

I have desires. I have goals. There are things I’m actively moving toward.

I’m just increasingly interested in discovering how much I can move toward what I want without gripping it.

How much pleasure can I experience along the way?

How deeply can I inhabit the life I already have while still wanting more?

How strong and resilient can I become without becoming hard?

How much can I allow to move through me rather than carrying it?

Less gripping. More flow.

More pleasure. More life.

That feels like a pretty beautiful way to enter 39.
