Let’s talk about “wrinkle management”

There’s nothing wrong with wrinkles! And you don’t have to smooth them, or change yourself in any way, I’m not here to say that you should. But if you’re interested in doing so naturally, and stimulating your body’s regeneration of collagen and elastin, read on….

First of all, of course you’re going to get expression lines!

You’re a living, breathing, crying, sobbing, laughing, concentrating, expressive, and sometimes frustrated yet always beautiful human….

If you’re lucky enough to live long enough to start seeing some expression lines, then you are on the right track.

Years of repetitive expressions start to form little micro adhesions in your fascia, your connective tissue. And this creates little scars in the skin. So there’s a bit of a formula for wrinkle smoothing:

Number one is to try to gain some awareness over your compulsive mimics, your unnecessary crinkles, the expressions that are just sort of extraneous. I have a bit of a natural RBF and I also practice this face yoga program (affiliate link) which gives me control over my muscles while also building them and maintaining bone and facial structure.

Number two is to smooth out the adhesions that will inevitably form, and rehydrate, re-educate your tissue, and stimulate some new collagen and elastin to make your skin more resilient, and less prone to wrinkling in general. You can do this with your fingers, or a gua sha stone/tool. I teach you ALLLLLL different methods of smoothing via my Embodied Beauty Academy.

Number three is to eat a nourishing diet, make sure you’re getting enough protein, enough fats, vitamins, minerals, enough macros, etc. I know I don’t need to tell you to lay off the sugar and the alcohol, and to get enough sleep but I also want you to live your life, so I’ll just leave it there.

Number four is to relax yourself! Don’t stress your body unnecessarily, because this breaks down collagen and elastin faster and accelerates aging. You ONLY repair in a relaxed state, so chill out like your skin depends on it.

Number five is to practice safe sun. Yes I know I know the sun is healthy, I love the sun personally. But excessive sun does cause damage, so use a mineral sunblock and a hat, and be mindful! I spent years worshiping the sun in my 20s and paid for it a bit but no regrets.

Number six is the cherry on top, and the thing that really made a huge difference for me, is kinesiology taping. I use kinesio-gold light touch, it’s very gentle for facial skin and easy to find online. There is definitely a skill involved with the application, but smoothing out the area first and then taping it overnight is the formula.

Kinesiology taping enhances micro-circulation, allowing the fascia to realign into a more ideal posture.

This is not a one and done thing, this is a lifestyle…

And by the way, Botox is robbing Peter to pay Paul. There are bone density diminishing, skin dulling, and muscle atrophying effects from it, plus its poison…So I’m staying away from that sh*t! It’s not the key to vibrant aging.

Respond to this email and let me know if you’re interested in a mini forehead smoothing/taping class! I’m curious.

Thanks for reading!

Love, Krista
