Why caring about your appearance isn’t shallow

You may have been told that caring deeply about your beauty and appearance is shallow.

That you should grow up, abandon those desires, and become a “deeper” and more spiritual person.

Because there’s the fear that your looks will fade, and then what?

But… you’re not ready to stop caring about feeling beautiful, AND you’ve been told that your tether to attractiveness is your “youth.”

So the moment you see something looking different due to the natural, uber-feminine experience of aging, you find yourself going into full “anti aging” damage control. Researching products, procedures, supplements, and injections.

Enter stress… dysphoria, and fear of potential loss. Because we’ve been told that society allows women to age as long as we look young-ish while doing it. This triggers a primal fear of not being taken care of! Of not being safe.

So you understand that “should” care, but if you care “too much” then you’re considered shallow.

Does this sound familiar? This is the paradox that women find themselves with in everything. We’re the only creatures that can be “too much” and “not enough” simultaneously. The expectations of perfection on all sides of every spectrum is towering and so pressurized.
I think it’s natural to want to look beautiful, and the fear of loss isn’t something we talk about enough. I’ve seen so many female spiritual leaders/embodiment coaches/wellness guides loaded with botox and fillers lately (no shade). The pressure of “beauty” IS a spiritual issue.

But here’s the thing…

You get to break free from the entire circus, and look and feel beautiful, and be deeply spiritual, radiant and self-connected.

You get to unsubscribe from the pressures that we’re told we need to bend to and chart your own course of SOUL ALIGNED BEAUTY CARE that totally “works,” and design your own unique goddess lifestyle.

You get to age with softness, ease, kindness, and be deeply loved and valued no matter what your age is.

LIVING in dedication to beauty is actually a major pillar of my spiritual identity and practice. I see nurturing and celebrating our beauty as a way to tap into our truest, fullest, soul’s expression.

I’m a practitioner of the beauty-healing arts, this is LITERALLY my code ~ and I’m not immune to wanting my face to look lifted, contoured, smooth and glowing with bright clear eyes, and beautiful tone.

So I prioritize my self-care: I have my massage techniques, my facial Gua Sha, my lymphatic drainage, my stretching/fascia work and energy clearing/balancing practices that truly make me who I am.

I love having rituals that help me exist and mature radiantly, while also deepening my self-connection in the process.

I’ve decided that I don’t have to choose between being either aesthetically motivated OR spiritual.

And from my perspective - the more women can do to help ourselves relax, restore our faces, HEAL, balance hormones, and maintain our wellbeing… isn’t that being a steward of your body? Isn’t that the ultimate way to honor the spiritual GIFT of having a body?

All of the practices I mentioned help to do these things! And of course I'm here to teach you, and to hold powerful sacred beauty healing sessions with you.

We don’t have to care for ourselves out of fear, we GET TO out of love. And taking care of you IS having a huge impact on the world.

This isn’t about looking 29 forever, because you won’t and thank goodness for that - can you imagine how weird and isolating that would ACTUALLY be?

Thanks for reading!

Love, Krista
