It’s just true. I’ve seen it with myself 100000 times.
When I’m doing a bit of gua sha, a bit of massage, a bit of fascia-specific work, some face taping here and there, a few minutes of face yoga and eye exercises… just peppered throughout my week. My face is different. It’s smoother, brighter, more lifted, more toned, it doesn't retain fluid (which stretches the skin over time).
When I’m doing gentle walks, some weight lifting here and there. A 20 minute gentle workout. Some stretching before bed. “Oh I haven't dry brushed this week let me do that”
“I don't feel like meditating god why do I have to do this every day!!!??? Okay fine I’ll sit for 10 minutes” (which turns into 20)...
Like little taps to a rudder that steer a huge ship. Your little shifts make up your reality.
I like to see it as beauty and more importantly self-care hygiene. I now realize how amazing it makes me feel. How COMPLETELY DIFFERENT I feel when I’m showing up for myself…
How at 36 this stuff isn’t a luxury. It’s for my health, it’s for my sleep, my mental state, my hormones, my lymphatic system.
Self-care solely for vanity is so 10 years ago.
I’m finally NOW certain that I’m doing it FOR ME and not for external forces or trying to conform.
Because my body hurts when I don't exercise lol I get stiff, I can’t function. I can’t dream as big, show up as powerfully. It's a choice.
Recommit to yourself every day.
