mindbodygreen interview: How emotions influence your face

Hi my beauties, I wanted to share with you that I had the honor of being interviewed by Alex Engler for the mindbodygreen CLEAN BEAUTY SCHOOL Podcast! Listen to in to learn how flow, tension, and emotions influence how our faces age.

We got into SO much juiciness, but it also really just felt like girl-talk:

~ My journey of how I arrived at being a bodyworker specializing in natural facial rejuvenation.

~ How posture/alignment and tension patterns in the body influence how our faces age.

~ All about the renewable resource of your body. Your connective tissue (fascia) the lymphatic system, and how to gently influence these systems for your highest good.

~ My beauty and wellness philosophy and how beauty is an energetic projection that fluctuates based on how we feel about ourselves in the moment.

~ Some fundamental self-care tips for aging radiantly (posture & self massage)

And so much more.

A little aside on why this podcast interview was so special for me. I have been a mindbodygreen fan, friend, and follower for many years. When I learned about them, I was a Digital and Social Media Manager for a major brand with a lovely and talented team working for me. My peers inspired me, and I adored my boss. But I knew in my heart that this wasn't the future I wanted to invest in long-term. I didn't want to become a digital media expert, I wanted to become a masterful wellness practitioner.

I used to sit at my desk and devour content from mbg, and just wish that I was part of their wellness tribe in a more influential way. During this period, I had the opportunity to work with mindbodygreen on a digital partnership and was invited to a retreat in the mountains of Tucson.

I thought I would have the time of my life but I had the most intense anxiety while I was there. I eventually settled in and realized that the reason for my strong reaction was that I didn't want to VISIT this world. I wanted to BE A PART of this world. I wanted to speak amongst them, practice alongside them. I didn't know exactly what form it would take. At the retreat I took a face massage workshop by Britta Plug, which grounded me so deeply into my body. I learned about Sri Mati ~ Julie Piatt (who in a roundabout way introduced me to Sadie Adams ~ A facialist who specialized in cell rejuvenation). As you’ll learn in this episode my love for natural beauty and bodywork runs deep in my lineage.

Very quickly it was clear that my path was bodywork and holistic beauty. I didn't know when I’d make the change or even how to do it.

Shortly after this experience my Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I realized that our lives are precious and can be cut short at any moment for any reason. I decided to leave my job, and go back to school to become a massage therapist. I’m so grateful that I took the leap when I did.

Fast forward to 2020, I started listening to the Clean beauty school podcast by mbg. I wanted so badly to share my passion and my work and had numerous email drafts written to send asking to be a guest. But I kept feeling blocked, self conscious about it, not ready etc. I even wrote down on my manifestation list that I want to be featured on this podcast. When Alex Engler reached out to me, asking me to be a guest and to share my work I felt this absolutely beautiful full circle moment that just dropped me squarely into my life purpose. This is all just to share with you that you can manifest your dreams, even if you don't know how to make the move, once you’re in alignment with your purpose doors will just open. This podcast truly meant SO much to me, thank you for sharing this moment of joy with me!
